Simon Petrie

Simon’s early life is shrouded in mystery, though there are rumours of a Kiwi origin and some time spent in Canada, where he gained a true appreciation of the terms ‘wind chill’ and ‘humidity index’. He aspires to being more widely known for his fiction than for his research studies in chemistry and astrophysics, but this isn’t necessarily saying much. Currently a member of the Andromeda Spaceways Inflight Magazine publishing co-op, the Conflux organising committee, an Aurealis Award judging panel and the Australian Specfic in Focus reviewing team, and an occasional contributor to Specusphere, he’s thinking about maybe not joining anything else so as to leave some free time for writing. His fiction has appeared most frequently in ASIM and in the Antipodean SF webzine, but other magazines (both print and electronic) have also been culpable.
