Nicole R Murphy began writing seriously in 2000, and since then has had several short stories published, including invading the CSFG via Machinations and Elsewhere.
She was the Slush Wrangler for Elsewhere and Encounters, and thus was deemed to have served enough time to be awarded the editorship of the newest CSFG anthology: Outcast, An Anthology of Strangers and Exiles. Outcast will be launched at Conjure, the Australian Natcon in 2006, with Australian specfic legend Sean Williams doing the honours.
This has resulted in her fantasy novel epic being put on hold: the first novel is written and almost ready to be sent to publishers and agents, the second novel is barely into the first draft, but she?s very happy with it all.
Nicole is also a member of the Andromeda Spaceways Co-op, and will be the editor of Issue 25 (she thinks), due around June 2006 (and she promises that she?ll try really hard to have it ready on time).
She has been involved in organising the past two Conflux Canberra conventions, and is nominally on the committee for the next one although she?s finding it hard to actually do anything. She is also a member of the Natcon committee, helping the people who run the Natcons do their work.
In between all this, she finds time to work at the award-winning South Coast Register newspaper in Nowra and on occasion, even gets to see her husband Tim.
