I joined CSFG in 2003, when I finally admitted to myself that, if I had to choose between writing and chocolate, chocolate would be sacrificed.
My first novel, Illuminations, was published in December 2002 in Louisiana, USA. It had footnotes.
Since then I have had peculiar things published in all sorts of places, including Canberra. Most of them are blessedly footnote free.
Illuminations is not my only novel, but where the others are in the publishing cycle is a mystery to me. My website has more information, perhaps. Maybe. It takes you as far as The Art of Effective Dreaming, anyhow. Sort of.
One day I might put some information about Secret Jewish Women's Business up there, since an awful lot of people have been inquiring about it (even though it is still asking publishers politely for a home).
If I don't get round to a website update it could be because I am working on a project on Medieval backgrounds for writers ("The Beast"), or it could be because I am finding out how modern fiction writers use the Middle Ages, or it could be because I am writing novels. I might also have gone teaching, or, better still, out for a very, very long cup of coffee.
At this moment "writing novels" refers to a story about a mirror, a spinster, and the Boss from hell. It currently features a slightly Bohemian living room, a lot of shopping and just a little magic. It
might contain slivers of horror.
After that, I am thinking about a return to Medieval fantasy. This is as much because I have some issues to explore using the Middle Ages as because I am a masochist. In The Art of Effective Dreaming I went out of my way to annoy morris dancers. It is time to move on and annoy historians.
I suddenly realize that a trilogy would annoy a lot more people.
Mmm. Much thinking ahead.
